Metabolic Balance ANZ Enterprise Agreements

An enterprise agreement is for a single business that wants to train multiple practitioners to deliver Metabolic Balance to their clients. One practitioner, typically the owner of the business or with the most clinical experience, takes the role of Supervisor Coach with the other practitioners having the role of “Sub-Coach”. The Supervisor is the single point of contact for all communication between the enterprise and MB ANZ and is fully responsible for ensuring that all Sub-Coaches are delivering MB in accordance with the contract. All coaches operate under the enterprise, e.g. they all operate under the enterprise’s business name, ABN, billing, GST, locations, websites, etc.

Should I consider an enterprise agreement?

We recommend you start as a standard MB Coach first and get some experience before switching to an Enterprise agreement. There is no cost for transferring from a standard contract to an Enterprise agreement and the cost of the Supervisor role is the same as a standard contract.
If you are already an MB Coach and are employing another practitioner and want them to also deliver MB to your clients then they must be trained as a Coach. The training for a Sub Coach is exactly the same as a standard Coach. However, the cost of the Sub Coach training is substantially lower as they have no direct access to any support from MB ANZ, e.g. no direct mentoring, etc. If the Sub coach practitioner also wishes to be an MB Coach in their own right, e.g. they also have their own business, then a Sub Coach status is not suitable.
Sub Coaches must be named individuals and complete the necessary MB practitioner training. The Sub Coach qualification is non-transferable, e.g. if your Sub Coach leaves your employment and you hire a replacement then you will have to pay for your new employee to do the training and have their name added to your enterprise contract.
The qualifications and requirements for Sub Coaches are generally the same as for standard Coaches, e.g. Nutritional Therapist, Naturopath or GP. However, if the experience or expertise of the Sub-coach can be demonstrated to be suitable then we would consider other modalities or less qualifications. The Supervisor Coach role must be a practising clinical practitioner that will be delivering MB to clients. If you are a business owner but not intending to personally deliver MB or don't have excellent clinical experience then you must allocate the Supervisor Role to an employee who will be delivering MB and meets all the requirements of a standard MB Coach. Note: the Supervisor Role must be named and is non-transferable.
If you are a group of friends or loosely associated businesses an Enterprise agreement is not suitable. All coaches under an enterprise agreement are only allowed to operate as MB coaches as an agent of a single enterprise.
The Enterprise (ABN) is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the delivery of MB to clients and the conduct of all coaches under the agreement, such as security, financials, conduct, contractual obligations, etc. E.g. if a Sub Coach breaches the contract then the Enterprise is held accountable. We insist on a contract being signed by each Sub Coach which spells out their obligations in the delivery of MB. We also highly recommend that enterprises update their employment or subcontractor contracts to make this clear.
If you are a growing business then this is a great way to go. Adding new Sub Coaches is as simple as purchasing and completing their training. There is no cost for transferring a single coach contract to an Enterprise Agreement. All the investment is made by the Enterprise and all the return goes to the Enterprise.
Please note that Metabolic Balance ANZ reserves the right to deny an Enterprise Agreement at its discretion. This decision is typically based on (but not limited to) the experience in clinic and the ability to supervise and be fully responsible for Sub Coaches to maintain the high standards we expect from all our coaches.

Cons

Sub-coaches can not claim to be or operate as MB practitioners in their own business or outside of the enterprise in any way, including all types of marketing not directly related to the enterprise.

What's actually involved in getting going?

Assuming we both agree that an Enterprise Agreement makes sense, we will draft a Enterprise Agreement. We will need the name, ABN and main address of your business. We will also need the name of an owner or director of the business and the names of the Supervisor Coach and Sub Coaches.
We require email address for all parties (supervisor and sub-coach) to send the agreement for electronic signing.
We will send you an invoice for the deposit required for all Supervisor Coaches (that are not already MB Coaches), and the full amount for all Sub Coaches training in the next training session. Note: the Enterprise Agreement is null and void until this invoice is paid in full.
We require the full name, phone number, qualifications and email address of every Sub Coach. The Sub Coach contract is sent to each Sub Coach's email and the Enterprise email. These contracts must be electronically signed by the Sub Coach, the Supervisor coach and MB, before the Sub Coach can train and subsequently deliver MB.
Coach profile is marked as active (if not already) and marketing profile is updated to include Sub Coach. Sub Coaches must make it clear they are working for the Enterprise and all links must point to resources associated with the Enterprise, e.g. they can not enter a link to their own business website or booking system.
All coaches are encouraged to complete their own MB Plans which are included in the training costs.
All plans are created under the Enterprise portal account (the Supervisor Coach's account) and billed to the Enterprise. We encourage you to set up Direct Debits to make this easier.
Sub Coaches direct all queries, questions or concerns to a Supervisor Coach who escalates anything they can't answer to MB ANZ via one of the support channels made available to the Supervisor Coach.
The Supervisor Coach regularly monitors the Sub Coaches and takes all necessary action to ensure the delivery of MB to clients is fully in line with all contractual obligations. Note: this includes ensuring that Sub Coaches are not using the Metabolic Balance name, qualification, logo, etc in any activity not directly related to and attributed to the Enterprise. This includes opinion pieces no matter how they are delivered, e.g. a private blog.

FAQs

Can I just be a Sub Coach without a supervisor?

No, there must be a minimum of one Supervisor Coach, as they are the only coaches to have access to support and mentoring from Metabolic Balance ANZ.

Can I have more than one Supervisor Coach?

Yes. There must be a minimum of one. All Supervisor Coaches have access to support and mentoring and therefore cost the same as a standard coach.

If my employee already has a standard MB Coach qualification do I still need to purchase Sub Coach training?

No. If you want your employee to operate under your enterprise agreement then we only need to add them to your enterprise agreement. They can be added as a Supervisor or Sub Coach. Note: their qualification and rights afforded them under their existing MB Coach contract are not superseded by or transferred to the Enterprise Agreement.

Is this a cheap way of getting my friend(s) qualified as an MB Coach?

No. The Sub Coach qualification is non-transferrable and belongs to the Enterprise. Unless your friend is also an employee or subcontractor of your business and acting on behalf of your business then they can’t do anything with the qualification, even if they leave your business. MB wishes to protect the investment made by Enterprises and will not discount standard training for existing Sub Coaches as this might encourage Sub Coaches to leave the Enterprise and setup on their own. If you and your friend(s) are starting a business together then this is a great option (we would still encourage one of you to get experience as a standard MB Coach first).

Can Sub Coaches get started before completing their training?

No. The Sub Coach must have signed their contract and completed training successfully before they can deliver MB to any clients. This is irrespective of the experience, status, competency, etc of the Supervisor Coach.

I'm a busy GP that wants to deliver MB using my practice nurses. Is an Enterprise Agreement right for me?
